How to adapt offices in the Covid-19 pandemic

The threat to public health posed by COVID-19 is now common knowledge. But what about companies and businesses that can't offer remote work to their employees? What should they do, besides the widely prescribed social distancing measures?

Most importantly: Increase security for your computer to the fullest

Introduce shift work and strategic seats

To help limit the number of people entering the office and standing together in the elevators, allow people to enter the building at 15 to 20 minute intervals, one floor at a time.

This can help isolate any exposure on a given floor. Elevators and doorknets can be cleaned between entrances. Also, place people who are on essential equipment in separate areas, so that if someone gets sick, it doesn't affect the entire department at once.

Increase communication

Make sure that communication is the most important thing and that the executive team, human resources team, facilities team, and IT team work together on the same page to deliver a message. It is necessary to unify a clear message throughout the company, especially when communicating essential information to the rest of the staff.

Increase cleanliness

Greater attention to cleanliness should be addressed with cleaning staff and new guidelines should be established. In addition, employees must take responsibility for their own spaces and behavior to ensure that everyone is on the same page. Increased cleanliness of areas such as faucets, door handles, railings, light switches, appliance doors, and all surfaces, including desks, meeting room furniture, and dining room tables and chairs, should be done more frequently than usual, and everything should be disinfected with the appropriate antibacterial supplies.

Use some kind of workplace management system to optimize options

The first step is to update your floor plan software so that employees are marked as absent or in the office. Then, reseat the staff so everyone maintains the proper amount of space between them to comply with social distancing recommendations: six feet (two meters). Temporarily suspend hot desking and opt for employees to sit in their same workspaces on a daily basis. Avoid sharing workstations and equipment.

In Modus 1504 you will find the perfect office to increase the productivity of your team.
